The Pharmacy Manager is a licensed professional responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to patients in accordance with our policies and procedures, current pharmacy practice professional standards, and other regulatory entities.
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy; Master’s or PharmD preferred from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Required licensure as a Pharmacist as granted by the Board of Pharmacy.
• Current pharmacist licensure in good standing in the state of practice.
• Infusion Therapy experience strongly preferred with experience compounding sterile products and managing patient care.
• Experience in direct or indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training, and assignment of work/projects to other team members.
• 3+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• At least one year of supervisory experience in a health care setting.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversees day-to-day management of the pharmacy department to ensure that quality products and services are provided to intrathecal therapy patients.
• Directs pharmacy inventory management, prescription compounding, dispensing processes, and supply management and delivery processes.
• Supervises direct reports including interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling.
• Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations.
• Directs and coordinates pharmacy in-service programs and ensure ongoing communication among care staff members.
• Communicates with patients and medical staff, providing clinical expertise via the most appropriate mode of communication (e-mail, phone, etc.).
• Facilitates and helps with the promotion and triage of end of day orders.
• Respects and publicly supports all decisions and mandates for the company made by the Pharmacist in Charge, Director of Pharmacy Services, Quality Department, and Leadership.
• Develops a logistical workflow for the day to day scheduling needs and continually makes changes as the need to accommodate the daily peaks and troughs.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Hands-on, "working" manager with solid understanding of intrathecal therapies, operations of home care pharmacy and strong clinical leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
• Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
